Ongoing: ONLINE CLASSES WITH RAHEL

Currently all classes are ONLINE Via Zoom. To register, contact Rahel. A link with an invite to the Zoom meeting will be sent each week. All you need is a device with internet, a small space to practice in, and a free Zoom account. Learn from the comfort of your own home, from anywhere in the world, with live streaming classes online. Rahel is set up with high quality AV equipment, lighting, and mirrored space, so it feels just like you’re in the studio with her. Classes are interactive, and students receive personal feedback from Rahel and can ask questions during class.

NOTE: For bellydance classes, any new students to Rahel will have to purchase 90 min of mandatory material on posture, alignment, bellydance history and cultural context. Normally $30 value but buy as a package for only $10 when you register for a class!

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Beginner Bellydance:
Dive into the beautiful world of Arabic dance and music! In this progressive, full-experience session, you will learn about the history and cultural context of Raqs Sharqi/Beledi (bellydance), learn how to stand and move safely and mindfully with correct posture and alignment, breakdown and drill basic isolations and movements of this beautiful Middle Eastern art form in a safe, learning-focused environment from dedicated full time dancer/teacher Rahel, AND get a great workout!!

Level 1 Drills:
This is the step between Beginner and Intermediate. For students who have a decent handle on beginner moves and want to drill them hard, add layers, and slightly more complex moves. Experience required.

Shimmy & Sweat:
Bellydance conditioning for dancers with at least basic beginner experience. Strengtheen, stretch and drill! Here we do a fun, but hardcore workout for 30 min (not for the faint of heart), high intensity drills (similar to Level 1), and then a nice long, relaxing 15 min stretch.

Intermediate Bellydance:
For students with at least a year of full time bellydance experience, preferably with Rahel. Must have a decent mastery of basic moves. Here we learn detailed isolations, undulations, 3/4 shimmies, traveling moves (for small space), spins and turns.

Advanced Bellydance:
The next step! For dancers with at least 3 years experience (preferably with Rahel) and a decent mastery of Intermediate level material. Here we work on more complex layers, nuanced detail of movement, tricky combos, traveling moves (for small space).

Just Fitness:
Fun, hardcore, sweaty, and high intensity strengthening! No experience required (but please check with your doctor if you have any injuries of illnesses to make sure that this type of activity is safe for you). Tone your arms, back, butt, legs and core but have fun while doing it! Equipment needed: yoga mat, socks or rag (if you have smooth floors), paper or plastic plates (if you have carpet) and a scarf or rope.

Hatha Yoga:
Gentle, relaxing, and slow. Here we focus on mindfulness, meditation and breathwork, while moving through a gentle flow of stretches designed to facilate space, revitalization and relaxation in your whole body. Flows are customized each week to students requests. Equipement needed: Yoga mat, a block or cushion or bolster, and a strap or towel.
