CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

FUN FITNESS WORKOUT:
Fun, sweaty and mindful full-body strengthening! We used isometrics, self-resistance,  and body weight. Some classes are all about sweating out your stress, and others are more about yummy, slower body work, and all will have a deep stretch at the end. You will always finish feeling great! No experience required (but please check with your doctor  to make sure that this type of activity is safe for you).
Equipment needed: yoga mat, socks or rag for sliding (use paper or plastic plates if you have carpet) and a scarf or rope.

HATHA YOGA:
Gentle, relaxing, and slow. Here we focus on mindfulness, meditation and breath-work, while moving through a gentle flow of stretches designed to facilitate space, revitalization and relaxation in your whole body. Flows are customized each week to students requests. Equipment needed: Yoga mat, a few props (can use blocks, cushions or bolsters) and a strap or towel.

BELLYDANCE DRILLS & CONDITIONING:
Conditioning for dancers with at least basic beginner experience. Strengthen, stretch and drill! Here we do a fun, but hardcore workout for 30 min (similar to the Fitness class), high intensity drills for 30 min (similar to the Drills class), and then a nice long, relaxing 15 min stretch. Experience required. Minimum one full beginner class preferably with Rahel. Drop-in friendly for experienced dancers who have covered Rahel’s prerequisite material. Equipment provided by the community centre. but bringing your own yoga mat is strongly encouraged.
