In this comprehensive workshop you will get an introduction to the practice of embodiment and trauma informed mindful movement. Spend some time diving into the concepts, theories, expectations, and benefits of the practice, then experience at least an hour or more of a full movement practice session, and then end our time together with discussion, sharing, and questions.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

EMBODIED MOVEMENT:

A trauma informed, mindful-movement-based embodiment practice. The ultimate self-care tool!
This class is an opportunity to get in touch with your body’s innate wisdom, reclaim healing movements and gestures, learn somatic resources, become friends with you body, and move in a way that feels GOOD!!!
In each 75 min session you will be guided INTO your body through sensation and non-judgemental awareness. You will then be invited into movement through a series of prompts to help you start exploring your own organic movement impulses. This practice is NOT about how movement LOOKS, it’s about how movement FEELS. Each session will end with re-integration, plus 10-15 min for an optional discussion for participants to share their experiences, comments, or questions if they so choose. Some sessions will include some psychoeducation and somatic resource exploration, others will be purely guided movement practice. 
Specifications:
There is NO experience required for this class.
This practice is for EVERY BODY ability, size, gender etc. The only requirement is that you can breathe, and have internet connection.
Cameras on/off is fully optional and participants are encouraged to make the practice feel safe and sacred to them.
Live on Zoom with recordings included, and accessible for the duration of the course plus an extra 2 weeks.
You may want:
-Space to move around in, that feels safe, and with no interuptions.
-A yoga mat or rug for working on the floor, cushions for sitting or laying down.
-Good speakers of headphones to enjoy the music.

 

GENTLE HATHA YOGA:
Gentle, relaxing, and slow. Here we focus on mindfulness, meditation and breath-work, while moving through a gentle flow of stretches designed to facilitate space, revitalization and relaxation in your whole body. Flows are customized each week to students requests.

NO Experience required.

Equipment needed
:

-A yoga mat
-A few props (can use blocks, cushions or bolsters) and a strap or towel.
