Join us for Summer Bellydance Classes! Have a cultural experience while you work on self love and socializing as well as fitness and fun! Classes include Beginner, Intermediate, Shimmy & Sweat, Helwa Dancers, as well as private lessons. Classes are held from Sundays to Thursdays, (but only Tue – Thur for the Summer) with a variety of locations, prices and times. All classes are progressive (no drop ins except with special permission) and experience with Rahel is required for Intermediate and Shimmy&Sweat. Auditions are required for the Helwa Dancers. Courses are 8 weeks for the summer and run until Aug. The fuller schedule will resume in Sept.
Dive into the beautiful world of Arabic dance and music! In this progressive, full-experience session, you will learn about the history and cultural context of Raqs Sharqi/Beledi (bellydance), learn how to stand and move safely and mindfully with correct posture and alignment, breakdown and drill basic isolations and movements of this beautiful Middle Eastern art form in a safe, learning-focused environment from dedicated full time dancer/teacher Rahel, AND get a great workout!! For class, wear comfortable, breathable clothes, bare feet and bring a water bottle. Hipscarves provided. No experience required!!
